There’s a particular kind of quiet that settles over a home when a child stops to notice something small — a beetle crossing a path, the shape of a cloud, the sound of rain on a window. That noticing is its own kind of magic, and it’s the whole heart of Our World of Wonder & Magic, the book of poems we made for our grandchildren, Nate and Sumayah.
From Saturday 29th through Monday 31st August, we’re making the Kindle edition completely free. Not because wonder should have a price on it in the first place, but because we’d love more families to have it in their hands — or on their screens, curled up together before bed.
The book is full of poems, pictures, and small everyday miracles — the kind that are easy to walk past if we’re not paying attention. It was written slowly, with love, by a grandad (“Dede”) and a nanny, for two children we adore. Ten percent of the profits go to Save the Children, so even the ordinary act of reading together does a little good in the world.
If that sounds like something your family — or someone else’s — could use this weekend, here’s the link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0HF4ZBTMB
And if you read it together, we’d love to hear what your child noticed.
With hope,
The Quiet Signal
